Dwarf Everbearing Mulberry (spring delivery)
$70.00
Our smallest mulberry, Dwarf Everbearing will top out at about 15′ in height with more of a bush than tree habit. Reaches maximum height in 2 to 3 growing seasons and should start to yield just 1-2 years after planting. Excellent choice for smaller compact poultry yards and homesteads where the goal is fruit drop for chickens, turkeys and other fowl. Plant at 10‘ x10’ spacing for overlapping branches or at 20’ x 20’ for walkable openings between trees. Least cold hardy of our mulberry varieties, we experienced some winter die-back on stems in our abnormally cold winter of 2024-25, but they came back with no problem. Bare root trees 6-8’ tall. Zones 7-10. Resistant to popcorn disease.
Unlike most other mulberry trees for sale, our mulberries are grown from tissue culture. We have selected clonal propagation from tissue culture over grafting because it offers a superior product. As a complete clone, the entire plant has the same genetics. With a grafted tree the top is different from the rootstock (also called understock) that it is grafted on. If the tree dies back below the graft, through delayed graft incompatibility, livestock damage, a brush hog or some other cause, what you’re left with is an expensive generic seedling. With a complete clone from tissue culture, the entire plant has the right genetics. Also, the benefit of clonal propagation over seedling propagation is that we know all of our trees will yield fruit, and we know what qualities they will have.

Volume discounts: 4-9 trees $48, 10-24 trees $32, 25-99 trees $24, 100-249 trees $18.50, 250+ trees $15
Shipping: This product will ship out in March or early April as a bare root tree depending on your region. If you want to plant earlier and your ground is not yet frozen by early December, consider a fall shipment. Although these trees are 7′ or taller, we will head these trees to just under 6′ since shipping boxes longer than 6’ becomes much more expensive. Trees picked up will not be topped but remain at full height.
*Restricted and not available for shipment to Wisconsin.
